  6.         If the WordPerfect Program is on the
  7.         hard drive, retrieve the WordPerfect
  8.         Program by typing the following next
  9.         to the C> prompt:

  11.         CD\WP50    <Press Enter key>
  12.  
  13.         Then type     WP   <Press Enter key>
  14.  
  15.         A blank screen will appear. A flashing
  16.         dash-mark will appear in the upper left
  17.         hand corner. This is called the Cursor.
  18.         You will always see the Cursor flashing
  19.         on some part of the screen.  The
  20.         flashing Cursor is telling you that the
  21.         Program (WP) is ready to accept some
  22.         commands from you and put the computer
  23.         to work.

  26.   √√√   ELEVEN IMPORTANT KEYS
  27.         WordPerfect uses many keys and key
  28.         combinations. For our purpose we'll be
  29.         using those keys listed below.

  31.         THIS IS A LIST OF THE KEYS USED IN THIS COURSE

  33.         ▀  F7           Exit key
  34.         ▀  F7 N Y       Exit from WordPerfect
  35.         ▀  F7 N N       Clear screen for writing a new document
  36.         ▀  F10          Save document or replace document
  37.         ▀  F10 Enter Y  Save corrected document
  38.         ▀  Ctrl + F2    Spell Check
  39.         ▀  Alt + F1     Thesaurus
  40.         ▀  Alt + F3     Reveal codes
  41.         ▀  Alt + F4     Block command
  42.         ▀  Alt + F9     Graphic command

  45.         A FEW OF THE KEYS ARE DESCRIBED BELOW.

  47.   √√√   ▀   HOW TO CLEAR THE SCREEN
  48.             Clear screen by pressing <F7> N N.
  49.             The <F7> key is the large Function key at
  50.             the top of the keyboard.
  51.             Press and release this key.
  52.             Next, press the letter N twice. This will
  53.             clear any text that may be on the screen.

  55.   √√√   ▀   SPELL CHECK A DOCUMENT
  56.             <Ctrl+F2>, then 3.
  57.  
  58.   √√√   ▀   SAVE A DOCUMENT TO THE HARD DISK
  59.             Press <F10>. Type in name of document,
  60.             then press the <Enter> key.

  70.             Block area to be moved by using
  71.             Block command <Alt+F4>.
  72.             Then use the Move command <Ctrl+F4>, then 1 1.
  73.             to move blocked area to new location.

  75.   √√√   ▀   PRINT A DOCUMENT
  76.             The print command is <Shift+F7>.
  77.             To print a document press and hold down
  78.             the <Shift> key, then press the <F7>.
  79.             Function key.  Release both keys.
  80.             Now Select, "to print all pages,  or any
  81.             particular page, or pages".

  83.         All eleven keys will be explained in detail when used
  84.         with the Lessons.
